DPM DISCUSSES REGIONAL SHIPPING SERVICE WITH SAMOA'S PRIME MINISTER

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sir Terepai Maoate has formally requested the Samoa Prime Minister for further discussions on the issue of a regional shipping service.

Sir Terepai who returned home yesterday from a private holiday, submitted to PM Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi that there are several positive and mutually beneficial options that can be explored.

In a letter to the Samoa PM, Sir Terepai stated; “I also believe that a regional shipping service will also help realize for us the long-term Pacific islands vision of a shared bulk-purchasing scheme that you advocated during our meeting.”

PM Sailele raised the possibility of a regional shipping service for Samoa, the Cook Islands and Niue.
